FRANKFORT, Ky.--
The Finance and Administration Cabinet’s Division of Surplus Property will conduct a live auction on Wednesday, August 4 at its warehouse located at 514 Barrett Avenue in Frankfort.
Items to be sold include salvaged materials from the on-going restoration of the Old Governor’s mansion. These items include windows, trim, mantels, shutters, wall panels and doors. Most of these items for sale were added in 1950s during a previous renovation of the mansion. They were removed to restore the mansion to a historically accurate representation of what it looked like in the 1840s.
Additional items to be sold at the auction include chairs, couches, desks, credenzas, cabinets, shelves, tables, stands and other office furniture. Also available for purchase is office equipment, such as computer and lab equipment, fax machines and typewriters.
Several surplused state vehicles will also be available for purchase at the auction. These vehicles include several Jeep Cherokees and Chevrolet Tahoes.
Items will be available for preview beginning at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the sale. The auction will begin at 9:00 a.m. All property sold "as is" and "where is." Full payment is o be made one hour after the close of the sale. Payment may be made in cash, money order or by cashier’s, certified or traveler’s check. Personal checks for in-state banks will also be accepted with proper identification. Out-of-state checks require a full-certified letter of credit from the bank for bids to be accepted.
