FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed the following members to the Underground Railroad Advisory Council:

• Chellnecia L. Coleman, of Paducah, is a retired employee from Bellsouth Communications. She represents at large members. The appointment replaces William Henry Mulligan, whose term has expired. Coleman shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 27, 2009.
   
• Allison Jones, of Covington, is a medical writer at Medpace, Inc., in Cincinnati. She represents at large members. The appointment replaces Pen Bogert, whose term has expired. Jones shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 27, 2010.

The Underground Railroad Advisory Council advises and assists the African-American Heritage Commission with respect to issues and opportunities related to the Underground Railroad. The council annually reviews and makes recommendations to the commission on the annual report and plan for future action.
