- Review Board to consider National Register nominations Tuesday in Frankfort
Monday, December 08, 2008 Nominations of sites in Barren, Fayette, LaRue and McCracken counties will be considered for listing in the National Register of Historic Places when the Kentucky Historic Preservation Review Board meets at 10 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, December 9 at Paul Sawyier Public Library in Frankfort. The meeting is open to the public.
- Woody the Kentucky Wiener and “President” Lincoln to make joint appearance Saturday at the Kentucky Book Fair
Friday, November 14, 2008 Woody the Kentucky Wiener, star of the popular "Woody Book" series, and "President" Abraham Lincoln, in the person of Jim Sayre of Lawrenceburg, will draw the name of the November Kentucky Lincoln Heritage Trail Passport prize winner at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kentucky Book Fair. Joining them will be Woody’s mom and author of the series, Leigh Anne Florence.

Monday, November 03, 2008 A colorful design for a proposed new license plate celebrating the Unbridled Spirit of Kentucky’s Native American culture was unveiled today during a ceremony at the State Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort.

Wednesday, October 29, 2008 An honor guard and children singing songs in the Cherokee language will be featured during a ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday, November 3 in the Capitol Rotunda, hosted by the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission, to commemorate Native American Indian Month and unveil a new Kentucky Native American license plate design.
- Campbellsville Elementary School to host "presidential" visit Friday morning
Wednesday, October 22, 2008 President Abraham Lincoln will visit Campbellsville Elementary School's weekly assembly at 8 a.m. Friday to present a basket of Lincoln-related memorabilia to fourth-grader Zack Settle, a huge Lincoln fan and presidential buff who was winner of a recent monthly prize drawing for the Kentucky Lincoln Heritage Trail Passport Program.

Thursday, October 09, 2008 Internationally known instructor Richard Tufnell will lead a workshop in dry stone wall construction this weekend on the campus of Pine Mountain Settlement School in Harlan County, a National Historic Landmark.

Friday, October 03, 2008 A progressive tour of historic central Kentucky sites along the Kentucky Lincoln Heritage Trail that have a direct connection to the president or the lives of his family and friends will take place next Sunday, October 12 beginning in Springfield.

Friday, October 03, 2008 A design competition seeking proposals for a commemorative Kentucky Native American license plate has been announced by the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission, administered by the Kentucky Heritage Council / State Historic Preservation Office. Entry deadline is Friday, October 24.

Thursday, July 24, 2008 Karon Noll of Pensacola is the first winner of the monthly prize drawing for travelers who collect passport stamps from at least 10 sites along the new Kentucky Lincoln Heritage Trail, which features 16 Kentucky museums and historic places important in the life of President Abraham Lincoln. Entries for the first passport prize drawing came from Kentucky, Indiana, Arizona and California as well as Florida.
