Kentucky Arts Council Hosts Reception in Bowling Green
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Arts Council welcomes artists, representatives from arts organizations, educators and community leaders from Bowling Green and nearby communities to a reception from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. (CDT), Friday, September 19, 2008, at the Window Gallery of the Kentucky Museum, located in the Kentucky Building on the campus of Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky. The reception follows the quarterly meeting of the governing board of directors of the Kentucky Arts Council, the state's arts agency.
The Kentucky Arts Council board and staff welcome the opportunity to hear about the successes and future opportunities for the arts in Bowling Green and the region, as the arts are a vital part of economic development, tourism and the creation of a better quality of life. The reception, which is free and open to the public, will also introduce the Kentucky Arts Council to those that may not be familiar with the work of the agency.
The Kentucky Arts Council is a state agency in the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet that creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
