A Meacham Country Ham and a "Pure Michigan" gourmet basket are on the line in a friendly championship wager between Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette. The two confirmed the challenge today, just hours before the University of Louisville faces the University of Michigan in the final game of the NCAA Tournament.
"Attorney General Schuette and I are both looking forward to an exciting game tonight," said General Conway, whose wife is a University of Louisville graduate. "Personally, I think some gourmet items from Michigan would go nicely with a UofL victory. We hope to keep the NCAA championship trophy in Kentucky"
If Michigan wins, General Conway will send Attorney General Schuette a Meacham Country Ham from Union County. Union County is where General Conway's father grew up. Attorney General Schuette, who knows his way around a basketball court, had no problem betting on his Michigan Wolverines.
"I'm more than happy to make this bet with General Conway, because I'm confident he'll be saying ‘Hail to the Victors' when all is said and done," said General Schuette.
The University of Louisville Cardinals square-off against the University of Michigan Wolverines for the national championship tonight at 9:23 ET.
