Gala will be held June 7, tickets available now

FRANKFORT, Ky. – As part of the Governor’s Mansion Centennial Celebration, Maker’s Mark is issuing a new commemorative bottle featuring the portraits of all eight living Kentucky governors.  Every label will be hand-signed by each governor and the exclusive bottles will debut Saturday, June 7, at the Governor’s Mansion Centennial Gala.

“The Centennial Gala and Maker’s Mark limited-edition bottles are two special ways for Kentuckians to donate to the preservation of the Governor’s Mansion,” said Kentucky Governor’s Mansion Executive Director Ann Evans. “All proceeds raised through these efforts will go directly toward keeping our state’s executive residence one of the premier historical landmarks in the country. Thank you to Maker’s Mark for their generosity and support of the Centennial Celebration.”

The Governor’s Mansion Centennial Gala will be held at the Governor’s Mansion on the evening of June 7 and will include a cocktail hour, a sit-down dinner and musical entertainment featuring the University of Kentucky’s all-male, nationally-touted singing group, the AcoUstiCats. All proceeds for the gala will benefit the Kentucky Executive Mansion Foundation Inc. (KEMFI).

Maker’s Mark has donated to KEMFI 100 special commemorative bottles to be auctioned off at Mansion Centennial events.  The new commemorative Maker’s Mark bottles will make their first appearance at the Centennial Gala and feature the portraits and signatures of all eight living Kentucky governors, along with when each governor served. The list includes:

  • Gov. Wendell H. Ford, 1971-1974
  • Gov. Julian M. Carroll, 1974-1979
  • Gov. John Y. Brown Jr., 1979-1983
  • Gov. Martha Layne Collins, 1983-1987
  • Gov. Brereton Jones, 1991-1995
  • Gov. Paul E. Patton, 1995-2003
  • Gov. Ernie Fletcher, 2003- 2007
  • Gov. Steven L. Beshear, 2007- Present

The limited-edition bottles will be offered as a silent auction item at the Centennial Gala.  Any remaining bottles will be offered for auction at a future Mansion Centennial event.
