Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner James Erwin today announced that Fred Siegelman has been appointed as the Director of Kentucky Correctional Industries (KCI).  He assumed his new duties July 1.

“We are fortunate to find someone with the skills that Fred possesses,” said Erwin.  “His vast experience in business and governmental operations will prove to be a real asset to Kentucky Correctional Industries.”

Siegelman served as a Versailles city councilman from 1996 through 1998, before being elected as mayor of Versailles.  He served as mayor from 1999 through 2013 and is only one of two mayors in the history of Versailles to serve four consecutive terms. While there he served his constituents and community in many positive ways by enhancing the quality of life for the entire community.

He has also owned and operated multiple Little Caesars restaurants throughout central Kentucky for more than 25 years.

Siegelman has served on numerous boards, including the Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Trust Board, the Bluegrass Area District Development board, the Kentucky Fire Commission Board and the local Chamber of Commerce.

Siegelman, a lifelong resident of Woodford County, currently lives in Versailles.  He is a 1983 graduate of Woodford County High School and has four children, Elizabeth, Amber, Rachel and Freddy.
