Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky’s Chief Election Official and Chair of the State Board of Elections, announced today that the State Board of Elections has certified vote totals from the December 10th Special Elections to fill vacancies in the offices of State Senator, 13th District, and State Representative, 7th District.
In the 13th Senate District, which is located in Fayette County, Democrat Reggie Thomas received the highest number of votes and was issued a certificate of election. Turnout in the 13th Senate District election was approximately 11 percent.
In the 7th Representative District, comprised of Union and parts of Daviess and Henderson Counties, Republican Suzanne Miles received the highest number of votes and was issued a certificate of election. Turnout in the 7th Representative District election was approximately 22 percent.
