The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea will be closed for the day on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. The center will be open regular hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning on Friday, Nov. 29, and throughout the Thanksgiving weekend, providing visitors with exciting possibilities for finding Kentucky-made gifts for that special person on your list, on this traditional kick-off to holiday shopping weekend.

Also of interest on Saturday, Nov. 30, artist Patricia Ritter, of Kettle, will demonstrate watercolor painting from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Lorinda Jones and Greta Gillmeister of the group Chattering Magpies will perform Christmas music on Irish Harp and Recorder from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Convenient to visitors on this traditional holiday shopping weekend, the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located at 200 Artisan Way, just off Interstate 75 at Berea Exit 77. The Center’s exhibits, shopping, and travel information areas are all open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the cafe offers fine Kentucky cuisine from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Celebrating 10 years in 2013, the center currently features works by more than 650 artisans from more than 100 counties across the Commonwealth. Special exhibits on display include, “Capturing the Art of Sport: Works by Kentucky Artisans,” through Feb. 22, 2014. The center lobby features an 18-foot Christmas tree decorated with sports-themed gifts and ribbons in University of Kentucky blue and University of Louisville red.
