Select Kentucky makes extensive, customized search tools and
data readily available
FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 11, 2013) – Finding the
perfect location in Kentucky to start, relocate or grow a business just got
easier with the launch of a new state-of-the-art site selection mapping tool, Select Kentucky.
Initiated and designed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic
Development and developed by the Commonwealth Office of Technology, Select
Kentucky makes the site evaluation process fast and efficient and provides the
Commonwealth with a clear advantage in a highly competitive economic
“Our goal for developing Select Kentucky was to provide
companies with a first-class experience when searching for and analyzing
Kentucky properties and communities for economic development opportunities,”
said Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Larry Hayes. “This custom site
provides a wealth of capabilities, allowing users to search by the most basic
of parameters to highly complex search criteria.”
Using Geographic Information System (GIS) software, Select
Kentucky brings together multiple search components into one user-friendly
system, providing centralized access to an extensive collection of detailed
information and reports, including site and building inventory, existing
Kentucky industry data and community demographics.
Offering visitors the ability to utilize a broad range of
specific criteria, including proximity searches, drive time and measurement
tools, customized industry and demographic layers and more, Select Kentucky
drastically shortens the time it takes to evaluate complex site selection
criteria. Data can also be easily saved and shared through a number of
