Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner, Jim Erwin today announced that Coleman Morrell will be promoted to program administrator for Adult Institutions. He will assume his new duties on Nov. 1.


Morrell began his career with the Department of Corrections in 2008 as a correctional officer at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women.  He was promoted to sergeant in 2010 and later that same year was again promoted to institutional training coordinator.  Morrell is a 2002 graduate of the University of Dayton where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice. He is also the recipient of a 2012 Commissioner’s Award.
