Frankfort, KY - June 7, 2013 - Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) Director John Heltzel has announced the appointment of Stephanie Robey to the position of assistant director of administration for KYEM.

Robey has been with Kentucky Emergency Management for over four years as the recovery branch manager.  This branch is responsible for the oversight of all Federal Emergency Management Agency funding distributed to the Commonwealth in conjunction with presidential disaster declarations.  During her tenure, the recovery branch has managed more than 57,000 applicants; 72,000 awards, grants and projects; and more than $960 million in recovery, mitigation and individual assistance.

"Stephanie has been a great asset to Emergency Management and to the Commonwealth," Heltzel said. "Stephanie's background, leadership capabilities and proven track record make her the right choice to continue moving the division forward in the manner set forth by her predecessor and this administration."

Ms. Robey has an extensive background in state government. She served four years as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Director of the Division of Accounts with responsibility for the financial oversight of over 10,000 federal grants, all cabinet accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
For eight years, Robey was chief of staff to the Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts Ed Hatchett. In this position, she coordinated the production of audits of state and local governments, oversaw all fiscal matters of the agency, directed sensitive investigations, and helped establish forensic examinations of state and local information technology systems. Additionally, Robey spent four years as chief of staff to the commissioner of financial institutions in the auditor's office.
