FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 19, 2017) - Finance and Administration Cabinet Secretary William M. Landrum III and Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles will hold a press conference Wednesday at God’s Pantry in Winchester to announce that several Kentucky food banks are purchasing nearly 315,000 meals from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to distribute to hungry Kentuckians as part of the state’s Hunger Initiative. The purchase is the result of efforts of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) and the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet to facilitate the purchase of the meal kits at a fraction of their original cost.
Representatives of the news media are encouraged to attend and may RSVP to Sean Southard or Pamela Trautner.
