Gov. Bevin Makes Appointments to Kentucky Heritage Council

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 22, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Christine Doughty Johnson and Maynard A. Crossland have been appointed to the Kentucky Heritage Council. Stephen L. Collins, Charles William Weyland and Virginia Wise Butler have been reappointed.

  • Christine Doughty Johnson, of Louisville, is retired. She shall serve for a term expiring August 6, 2020.
  • Maynard A. Crossland, of Lexington, is the president/chief executive officer of Shaker Village. He shall serve for a term expiring August 6, 2020.
  • Stephen L. Collins, of Shelbyville, is a funeral director and attorney. He shall serve for a term expiring August 6, 2020.
  • Charles William Weyland, of Louisville, is an architect. He shall serve for a term expiring August 6, 2020.
  • Virginia Wise Butler, of Maysville, is a substitute teacher. She shall serve for a term expiring August 6, 2020.

The Kentucky Heritage Council consists of no more than 16 members dedicated to the preservation and protection of Kentucky’s heritage. The Council reviews and recommends projects, encourages, coordinates and promotes historic preservation programs, and maintains an inventory of historic buildings throughout Kentucky.
