Gov. Bevin Makes Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 30, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Thomas “Jene” Hedden and Charlene Burlew have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Social Work.

  • Thomas “Jene” Hedden, of Shelbyville, is a contract clinical therapist for Whitten Psychological Services. He shall represent Licensed Clinical Social Workers and serve for a term expiring June 21, 2021.
  • Charlene Burlew, of Burlington, is clinical director of residential-based services for the Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky. She shall represent Licensed Clinical Social Workers and serve for a term expiring June 21, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Social Work is composed of seven gubernatorial appointees. The Board evaluates and approves the qualifications of applicants for licensure as certified social workers within the Commonwealth.

William Thomas Reynolds has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners.

  • Dr. William Thomas Reynolds, of Richmond, is an optometrist. He shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2020.

The Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners is composed of five gubernatorial appointees. The Board is responsible for regulating the practice and licensure of optometry within the Commonwealth.
