FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 25, 2017) – Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton has been invited to discuss the model and success of her entrepreneurship competition (the Lt. Gov.’s Entrepreneurship Challenge) at the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) annual conference in Nashville this week in front of a bipartisan audience of Lt. Governors from across the United States.

“I’m thrilled to see other states turning to Kentucky as a leader on how to engage the next generation with entrepreneurship and education, which are critical components of our future economic growth and workforce development,” said Lt. Gov. Hampton.

Lt. Gov. Hampton will give a presentation on the strategic planning and implementation involved in successfully launching the first-ever statewide entrepreneurship competition for all high school students in Kentucky. Other states have already inquired on how they might replicate the Lt. Gov.’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (LGEC).

“Lt. Governor Hampton was asked by her peers to come and speak as a leader in education and entrepreneurship in a time when all states as well as territories seek to promote workforce development and education,” said NLGA director Julia Hurst.

“One mission of the NLGA is to advance efficiency and effectiveness in the states. The LGEC, which is the only program of its kind in the country, is a model that can lend these qualities to other states. Having Lt. Gov. Hampton advance this unique model to her peers from around the country is sure to spark the growth of hands-on entrepreneurial programs across America.”
