Gov. Bevin Makes Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 28, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin today made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Melanie Sublett Marrs has been appointed to the Kentucky Board for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.

  • Melanie Sublett Marrs, of Lexington, is an attorney with Kinkead & Stilz, PLLC. She will represent citizens at-large and serve for a term expiring Oct. 31, 2020.

The Kentucky Board for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy regulates and licenses individuals who use ionizing or non-ionizing radiation as advanced imaging professionals, medical imaging technologists, limited x-ray machine operators or any combination of professionals licensed under this Board.

Harold Eugene Corder II has been appointed to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.

  • Harold Eugene Corder II, of Science Hill, is owner of Corder Financial Services, LLC. He will represent citizens at-large and serve for a term expiring May 31, 2020.

The State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors adopts standards and regulations which govern the funeral industry to assure public safety.

Robert Samuel Goforth has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers. 

  • Robert Samuel Goforth, of East Bernstadt, is a pharmacist. He will represent citizens at-large and serve for a term expiring Jan. 10, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of ophthalmic dispensing. The Board recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality, conducts formal hearings when necessary and prosecutes by due process any violators of state statute. 

William J. McIntyre has been appointed to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Advisory Committee.

  • Dr. William J. McIntyre, of Jenkins, is an emergency department physician. He will represent practicing physicians from any specialty and serve for a term expiring Nov. 15, 2020.

The Pharmacy and Therapeutics Advisory Committee advises the Governor, the Secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Commissioner of the Department for Medicaid Services on development and administration of an outpatient drug formulary.
