FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 4, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Lauren Adams Ogden, of Louisville, as Circuit Judge to serve in the Family Court for Kentucky’s 30th Judicial Circuit, Division 4, encompassing Jefferson County.
Ogden is currently an attorney with Ogden & Ogden, PLLC. She is a licensed family mediator, has been named an expert in divorce retirement issues in Jefferson Family Courts, and is a continuing legal education presenter to the Bar on divorce and retirement issues.
“I am so appreciative to Gov. Bevin for the honor he has bestowed upon me by appointing me to the position of Jefferson Family Court Judge,” said Ogden. “It is an honor to now be taking the seat previously held by the Honorable Judge Dolly Wisman Berry in Division 4. I will do everything I can to serve the families of Louisville well, to keep the seat in November, and to work hard for this community that I love. It is absolutely a dream come true to be able to serve Jefferson County from the bench, and I thank everyone for their past and continued support!”
After obtaining her undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University, Ogden earned her juris doctorate degree from the Vanderbilt University Law School. She has served on numerous community volunteer organizations, including Legal Aid Society, Gilda’s Club, Ronald McDonald House, Heuser Hearing Institute & Learning Academy, and Home of the Innocents.
Ogden and her husband Emmett reside in Louisville and have a daughter, Ensley.
This appointment will take effect on Jan. 8, 2018. Ogden will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
