KRS BOARD ELECTS NEW CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR, FORMALLY NAMES DAVID L. EAGER AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

FRANKFORT, KY (April 20, 2018):  The Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) Board of Trustees unanimously elected David Harris as Chairman and Keith Peercy as Vice Chairman of the Board, and formally approved the appointment of David L. Eager as Executive Director of the Systems during their annual meeting April 19.  Mr. Eager has served as the Systems’ Interim Executive Director since September 2016.

Mr. Harris is the Chief Executive Officer of MCF Advisors, LLC, a Kentucky based comprehensive financial services firm.  He was originally appointed to the KRS Board by Governor Bevin in June 2016.

Mr. Peercy is the Board’s elected representative from the State Police Retirement System.  Lieutenant Colonel Peercy retired from the Kentucky State Police as the Director of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division after serving as a Kentucky State Trooper for over 20 years.  He was elected to the KRS Board in March 2015. 

As Executive Director, Mr. Eager is responsible for the overall management of 253 employees and the numerous operations of the Systems, which currently has over 372,000 members and $17 billion in assets.  In this role, he represents the retirement systems on public policy matters, including issues before the Kentucky General Assembly, and serves as the KRS liaison to Executive Branch agencies and the general public. 

Mr. Eager has a long history working in the investment industry.  Prior to joining the Systems in 2016 he was a partner in Eager, Davis & Holmes, LLC, of Louisville, which provides consulting to institutional investment management organizations.  Previously he was a National Practice Leader for William Mercer, the global benefits and investment consulting firm.
