What is the Commonwealth News Center?
The Commonwealth News Center is the centralized location to access and obtain official news issued from Commonwealth government agencies. In addition, the News Center enables Kentuckians to sign up to receive customized, direct, unfiltered news releases issued from state government agencies by topic and/or by agency free-of-charge. Citizens can choose to receive the information via email immediately as it is released by an agency or on a daily or weekly basis. For example, if a person is interested in “Education and Jobs,” he or she could receive publications produced through the Commonwealth News Center related to that topic.
How do I subscribe?
Signing up to receive the emails is easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To sign up for this free service, click here and follow the instructions to complete the subscription process.
What if I'm already a Kentucky.gov subscriber?
You can receive press releases with your current Kentucky.gov registered username.  Simply click on Manage Account to modify your preferences.
How do I access my subscription to edit my profile?
Click here to login to your kentucky.gov account and select "Manage your News Center subscription settings."
How much does it cost to use this service?
The Commonwealth News Center is free to use and if you would like to subscribe to the service and create a custom profile all you need is a valid email address you would like to have the releases sent to.
How often is news released?
The Commonwealth of Kentucky issues news on a daily basis on numerous subjects.
How is my email address used?
Your email address will remain confidential and will only be used for the purpose of sending you news releases that match your custom profile.
I'm having trouble locating a story. What can I do to find it?
You can locate news articles by browsing through the various topics, agencies, and archives located in the navigation on the left. You can also use the Kentucky.gov Google search located in the upper right corner of this page or the advanced news search located in the navigation on the left.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Click here to login to your kentucky.gov account and select "Manage your News Center subscription settings." From here you will need to deselect the items contained in your profile and then save your settings.
