Update on Kentucky NASP state tournament

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 12, 2020) - In an abundance of caution, the 2020 Kentucky National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament scheduled for March 13-14 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville has been canceled.

This decision was made in conjunction with the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources with the support of National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) as part of the Commonwealth’s ongoing effort to ensure the health and wellness of the public as Kentucky fights aggressively to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Event organizers explored available options for rescheduling the tournament and have determined that rescheduling is not possible at this time.

We understand this comes as disappointing news for the student archers who have worked hard for the opportunity to showcase their skills on a statewide level. However, we feel this decision is in the best interest of all attendees.

Schools scheduled to participate in the state tournament will not be required to pay the registration fee for the canceled event. Any schools that had prepaid will receive a full refund.

Additional details relating to the process of advancement to the national tournament will be determined by Kentucky NASP at a later date.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to the student archers, their parents, coaches and vendors.
