Gov. Bevin Makes Appointments to the University of Louisville Board of Trustees

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 6, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin today made the following appointments to the University of Louisville Board of Trustees: 

Kevin L. Fuqua and Dr. Fred A. Williams have been appointed as members of the University of Louisville Board of Trustees.

Kevin L. Fuqua, of Peewee Valley, is a certified public accountant and leads a 140-member Tax Services Department team for MCM’s CPAs and Advisors. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville and a member of several professional accounting organizations.

Fuqua is also active in his community, serving as treasurer for the Ronald McDonald House of Louisville, board member of Neighborhood House, and treasurer for the South Oldham County High School Booster Club, among other endeavors.

“I strongly believe the University of Louisville is a vitally important economic engine for the City of Louisville,” said Fuqua. “I lead my life with a strong personal conviction that one should give back to their community in any manner possible, and I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to the University that has provided me so many opportunities in my personal and professional life.”

Fuqua will serve for a term expiring Jan. 13, 2020. 

Dr. Fred A. Williams, of Louisville, is a physician with KentuckyOne Health Medical Group whose specialties include endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and internal medicine. 

Dr. Williams is a past president of the Kentucky Medical Association and chairman of the Kentucky Physicians Leadership Institute. He also founded the Kentucky chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, has served on multiple committees and boards relating to the medical profession, and has received significant recognition during his thirty year career in the field of medicine.

“As a graduate of the University of Louisville, I fully support their mission of education and service to the local community and Commonwealth,” said Williams. “I have lived and practiced medicine in this area for 35 years, and want the university to excel in all aspects.”

Williams will serve for a term expiring Jan. 13, 2022.
