FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 24, 2019) – Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Larry Kevin Fulkerson, of Leitchfield, as magistrate for the First District of Grayson County. Fulkerson’s appointment fills the vacancy left by former First District Magistrate Robby Higdon, who passed away July 7.
Fulkerson retired from Houchens Industries after 23 years as a supervisor. He currently works as a route manager for Blain Distribution and serves as a deacon at Little Flock Baptist Church.
He and his wife of thirty years, Patricia, reside in Leitchfield.
“I am honored that the late Robby Higdon had enough confidence in my abilities to recommend me as his replacement,” said Fulkerson. “I will work hard to fulfill the duties of magistrate just as he would have and make good decisions for the citizens of Grayson County. I also offer my special thanks to Governor Bevin for this appointment and to Judge/Executive Henderson for his support during the process.”
Fulkerson will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2019 general election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
