FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 25, 2019) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
William Todd Kelley, Denise Bailey Adams, Taylora Schlosser, James Frederick Poynter, Patricia Ann Glass, Michelle Lynne Antle, Amy Deniece Riley, and Cheryl Beth Dimar have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Center for School Safety.
- William Todd Kelley, of Ashland, is chief of police. He will represent Kentucky League of Cities and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- Denise Bailey Adams, of Wilmore, is a retired educator. She will represent the Kentucky School Board Association and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- Taylora Schlosser, of Springfield, is a school superintendent. She will represent the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- James Frederick Poynter, of Butler, is a police officer. He will represent the Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- Patricia Ann Glass, of Nicholasville, is a district school nurse. She will represent the Kentucky School Nurses Association and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- Michelle Lynne Antle, of Franklin, is a school psychologist. She will represent the Kentucky Association of School Psychologists and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- Amy Deniece Riley, of Harrodsburg, is a school counselor. She will represent the Kentucky School Counselors Association and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023; and
- Cheryl Beth Dimar, of Louisville, is a retired teacher. She will represent the Kentucky Parent Teacher Association and serve for a term expiring March 11, 2023.
The Kentucky Center for School Safety was established in 1998 by the General Assembly to create safe, secure learning environments in Kentucky schools. It is the center for data analysis, research, allocation of information about successful school safety programs, research results and new programs.
Steven Gary Dale has been appointed as a member of the Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors.
- Steven Gary Dale, of Bagdad, is a retired farmer and economic developer. He will represent the environmental protection community and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
The Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors consists of 10 members, seven which are appointed by the Governor, and is charged with governing the Center for Pollution Prevention.
Albert William Pedigo, Gordon Ferrell Jones, and Matthew Russell Hinton have been appointed as members of the Agricultural Development Board.
- Albert William Pedigo, of Scottsville, is a self-employed farmer. He will represent active farmers and serve for a term expiring July 6, 2023; and
- Gordon Ferrell Jones, of Bowling Green, is a retired farmer and professor. He will represent active farmers and serve for a term expiring July 6, 2023; and
- Matthew Russell Hinton, of Flemingsburg, is a business owner. He will represent the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and serve for a term expiring July 6, 2023.
The Agricultural Development Board is comprised of 15 members, 11 appointed by the Governor. The Board was created in 2000 and serves to distribute 50 percent of the state's monies received from the Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement for the general purpose of agricultural development within the Commonwealth. The Board invests these funds into innovative proposals to increase net farm income and effect tobacco farmers, tobacco-impacted communities and agriculture across the state by stimulating markets for Kentucky agricultural products, finding new ways to add value to Kentucky agricultural products, and exploring new opportunities for Kentucky farms.
Robert J. Maher, Amanda Brooke Collins, and Benjamin Collier have been appointed as members of the Ashland Community and Technical College Board Directors.
- Robert J. Maher, of Ashland, is a financial adviser. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2025; and
- Amanda Brooke Collins, of Ashland, is a lab supervisor. She will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2025; and
- Benjamin Collier, of Garrison, is the president of a plumbing company. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 26, 2024.
The members of the Ashland Community and Technical College Board of Directors is responsible for adopting and implementing an annual budget, approving budget requests, and evaluating the functions of the school and the school’s staff.
Mandi Danielle Walker has been appointed as a member of the Board of Nursing.
- Mandi Danielle Walker, of Louisville, is a registered nurse. She will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2023.
The Board of Nursing is made up of 16 gubernatorial appointees. The Board approves programs of nursing and regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of nurses within the Commonwealth.
