FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 14, 2025) – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today two leadership promotions as he enters the second year of his term serving Kentuckians.
General Coleman named Kevin Grout as Chief of Staff. Grout has served as Communications Director and Senior Advisor since the beginning of the Administration and brings nearly a decade of experience to the role. He was previously with the Office of then-U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Louisville-based RunSwitch PR. In his new role, Grout will lead the Office’s communications, scheduling and daily operations and continue as a strategic advisor to the Attorney General.
“Kevin has worked tirelessly to help share the good work of our Office. His strategic leadership has served the people of Kentucky well in our first year. I look forward to seeing what Kevin will help our team accomplish in this new role as we build a better and safer Kentucky,” said Attorney General Coleman.
With Grout’s promotion, Deputy Communications Director Lauren Adams will step into the role of Communications Director. Adams, who joined the Office last year, spent 17 years as a television journalist, including time at WLKY in Louisville and WPSD in Paducah.
“Lauren is one of the most experienced communicators in our Commonwealth, and she has already proven her immense value to our Office,” said Attorney General Coleman. “She is well-prepared to take on this leadership role to keep Kentucky families up to date on the work of their public servants.”
Deputy Attorney General Rob Duncan will continue to serve as the principal advisor to the Attorney General and act as chief operating officer overseeing the Office’s litigating, appellate and investigative functions. Senior Counsel Wil Schroder will continue to spearhead the Office’s state legislative affairs as well as supporting the constituent services, Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission (KYOAAC) and Prosecutors Advisory Council (PAC) teams.
