FRANKFORT, KY. (April 24, 2018) – Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Department of Criminal Investigations Cyber Crimes Unit today announced that a 39-year-old Louisville man has been indicted on 15 counts of allegedly seeking sex with a minor and the distribution of obscene material.
A Franklin County grand jury on April 10 indicted Almo D. Harding on six counts of unlawful use of electronic means originating or received within the Commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities, Class D felonies, and nine counts of distribution of obscene matter, Class B misdemeanors.
Harding was arrested April 19 by Louisville Metro Police and is currently housed in Louisville Metro Corrections.
“Over the last 28 months, our Cyber Crimes Unit has removed a record number of child predators from Kentucky communities,” Beshear said. “Because of their work, our children are safer. I appreciate the investigators in my office and LMPD for working so hard to keep our communities safe.”
As chair of the Kentucky Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Board, Beshear works with Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky with funding from the Child Victims’ Trust Fund to help train parents, caregivers, advocates and law enforcement on how to make the internet safer for children and protect children from sexual abuse.
Kentuckians interested in supporting the fund can visit icareaboutkids.ky.gov or designate a portion of their state income tax refund by simply checking the box on the return form.
Beshear said that Kentuckians have a moral and legal duty to report any instance of child abuse to local law enforcement or to Kentucky’s Child Abuse hotline at 877-597-2331 or 877-KYSAFE1.
