Paige Lutz Promoted to PSAP/Jail Program Administrator

Kentucky Division of Substance Abuse Programs Director Sarah Johnson today announced that Paige Lutz has been promoted from her position as a social service clinician to a PSAP/jail program administrator in the division. Her promotion is effective May 1.

The Pretrial Substance Abuse Program (PSAP) is available for defendants who meet the specified criteria to complete a six-month treatment program as an alternative to a felony conviction. Lutz will be responsible for overseeing, assessing and coordinating all PSAP applicants authorized for substance abuse treatment under Senate Bill 4 to ensure they are statutorily eligible. She will act as the liaison to provide judicial information and education on this process. She will also be providing quality assurance of contracted jail substance abuse programs in her region and will assist with overall coordination of jail substance abuse treatment efforts by the SAP Division.

“We are very excited to have Paige Lutz in this new leadership position,” said Johnson. “She is a consummate professional who demonstrates integrity and genuine concern for her clients. She consistently shows commitment to the Division of Substance Abuse and DOC.”

Lutz began her career with the Department of Corrections in 2007, and has been employed by the Division of Substance Abuse/Addiction Services since 2014. Prior to promoting to a social service clinician position in 2014, Lutz was a probation and parole officer in the Lancaster office in District 14 and the Danville office in District 6. While working for the Division of Probation and Parole, she served as a class D officer, district-wide reentry liaison, a member of the Lincoln County Drug Court team, and served as a statewide trainer for the LS-CMI, the department’s first implemented risk assessment tool. In 2009, Lutz received the Probation and Parole Achievement Award for District 14.

In 2017, she assumed coverage of two community mental health centers that provide Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) to DOC clients. From 2017 to 2018, she served on the Commissioner’s Strategic Planning Committee to integrate additional levels of substance abuse treatment offered by the department.

Lutz is currently working toward earning certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC), and she serves as a board member for the Boyle County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP). She is a 2006 graduate of Xavier University where she majored in criminal justice and minored in psychology.
