Starla Anderson Promoted to Probation and Parole District 8 Assistant Supervisor

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 14, 2023) – Department of Corrections (DOC) Probation and Parole Division Director Erica Hargis today announced the promotion of Starla Anderson to assistant supervisor in District 8. District 8 covers Bath, Breathitt, Clark, Estill, Lee, Madison, Menifee, Montgomery, Owsley, Powell, Rowan and Wolfe counties. Anderson will be stationed in the Wolfe County Probation and Parole office.

“Starla Anderson has more than 13 years of experience with the Division of Probation and Parole,” said Hargis. “Her dedication to the department and proven track record make her a great fit for this position. She is truly an asset to our division, and I look forward to her leadership within this new role.”

Anderson joined the DOC in 2010 as a probation and parole officer in Wolfe County. During her career, she has supervised clients on parole, mandatory reentry supervision, home incarceration, and misdemeanant probation and diversion in Powell, Wolfe and Breathitt counties. Additionally, Anderson has acted as a field training officer since 2016, Moral Reconation Therapy moderator, new sanctions committee member, and District 8 representative for the Kentucky Employees Charitable Campaign (KECC). 

A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2006. She is a graduate of the 2017 Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program.
