FRANKFORT, Ky., April 12, 2025 - Franklin County courts will remain closed the week of April 14-18 as they recover from last week’s catastrophic flooding. The Franklin County Office of Circuit Court Clerk has temporarily relocated to the Court of Appeals location at 669 Chamberlin Ave. in Frankfort. The office will begin accepting phone calls Monday and will soon accept court paperwork for filing via a drop box outside the building. There will be signage pointing out the drop box once available. While the Franklin County court facility remains closed, some proceedings will take place remotely.
The public can check for court closures and schedule changes during inclement weather on the Kentucky Court of Justice website. Weather-related closures and scheduling adjustments for judicial centers/courthouses in each county are determined locally by the chief circuit judge in consultation with the chief district judge and circuit court clerk. To check for closings and schedule changes, see the top of the Kentucky Court of Justice homepage at kcoj.info/KCOJhomepage.
For more information and to verify the operating hours of a judicial center/courthouse not listed on the homepage, please contact the circuit court clerk’s office in the appropriate county. Contact information is available at kcoj.info/Counties.
