Grimes Announces GoVoteKY.com Hits 1 Million Visitors
FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 17, 2019) – Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced Wednesday that more than 1 million Kentuckians have registered to vote or updated their registration using GoVoteKY.com, the Commonwealth's first-ever online voter registration system.
"In 2016, I launched GoVoteKY.com, a major success in modernizing our elections making Kentucky the 31st state in the nation to pass online voter registration," said Grimes. "As of today over 1 million people have visited the site. From teenagers to grandparents, this online portal has been a useful tool for all Kentuckians to register to vote, update their registration and to know where to go vote on election day."
Ahead of the April 22 deadline to register to vote in the May 21 Primary Election, Grimes is encouraging all Kentuckians to register to vote using GoVoteKY.com.
"Kentuckians realize how easy it is to use GoVoteKY.com. We have made it easier for voters to be a part of the electoral process and have a voice in their government."
Grimes officially launched the portal in 2016 where she embarked on a social media campaign and successful statewide GoVoteKY.com Tour to encourage Kentuckians to not only register to vote but to show up at the polls on Election Day.
