FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 13, 2022) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced today that an investigation by his Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control resulted in the indictment of Heather Turner, 40, of Vine Grove for defrauding the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program, which is also known as Medicaid.
On April 7, 2022, a Hardin County Grand Jury indicted Turner on two counts of Devising or Engaging in a Scheme to Defraud the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program of $1,000 or More (Class D Felony), two counts of Theft by Deception of $1,000 or More (Class D Felony), and one count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (Class D Felony).
Detective Van Prewitt of the Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control investigated the case after receiving a referral from the Office of the Inspector General within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Assistant Attorney General Díanna Y. L. Miller and Detective Prewitt presented the case before the Hardin County Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth.
