FRANKFORT, Ky. (March. 13, 2025) – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today that action from the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit resulted in the indictment of a Mayfield man for domestic violence charges, including strangulation.
Theron Patrick, 57, of Mayfield, was indicted by a Graves County Grand Jury on charges of Strangulation, First Degree (Class C Felony), Assault, Fourth Degree – Domestic Violence (Class A Misdemeanor) and Menacing (Class B Misdemeanor).
According to the indictment, on February 15, 2025, Patrick strangled and assaulted a woman in Graves County, striking her multiple times with an open palm, knocking her to the ground, pulling her hair and causing visible swelling of her throat area. He also threatened to kill one of the victim’s animals.
Patrick was arraigned on March 11, 2025. He is set to appear in court again on May 16, 2025.
The Mayfield Police Department investigated the case. Executive Director of the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit Tim Cocanougher presented the Commonwealth’s case to the Grand Jury.

The charges in an indictment are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
