Attorney General Coleman Statement on Jefferson County Sheriff Aubrey

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 24, 2025) - Attorney General Russell Coleman released the following statement on Jefferson County Sheriff John Aubrey:

“Sheriff John Aubrey was a true Kentucky lawman, raising his hand to protect and serve this community for more than 50 years. Families like mine are safer because of Colonel Aubrey’s leadership.

“Sheriff Aubrey embodied the collaborative ethos that ‘No Sheriff stands alone.’ His impact on policing reached across this community, our Commonwealth and the entire nation.

“He became my friend when I served as President Trump’s U. S. Attorney and never let the letter behind our names get in front of our mission.

“My deepest condolences to Sheriff Aubrey’s remarkable wife Bobbie, his family and the entire JCSO.”
