FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 11, 2026) – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today the indictment of a Jessamine County public official on felony charges related to misconduct while serving as a prosecutor in the Jessamine County Attorney’s Office.
On Thursday, a Jessamine County Grand Jury indicted Eric Wright, 45, on one count of Abuse of Public Trust (Class D Felony), one count of Bribing a Witness (Class D Felony) and misdemeanor charges of Official Misconduct First Degree and Theft by Deception.
According to the indictment, in February and March of 2026, while exercising his duties in his official capacity as a prosecutor, Wright unlawfully obtained money that did not belong to him. Five days later, he attempted to bribe a witness.

The Nicholasville Police Department has investigated the case. Deputy Attorney General Rob Duncan and Criminal Chief Rewa Zakharia presented the case before the Jessamine County Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth.

The charges in an indictment are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
