Thomas Chris Martin Promoted to Assistant Supervisor in Probation and Parole District 20

Kentucky Department of Corrections Acting Director of Probation and Parole Erica Hargis today announced the promotion of Thomas Chris Martin to assistant supervisor of District 20.

District 20 encompasses Pulaski, Rockcastle, Lincoln, Wayne, McCreary, Whitley, Clinton and Russell counties.

“Chris Martin has demonstrated the skills necessary to be a valuable addition to our leadership team,” said Hargis. “I am pleased to add a person with the integrity and dedication to keep the division on track in this demanding environment.”

Martin began his career with the Department of Corrections in 2013 as a probation and parole officer in the Monticello Office of District 20. As a probation and parole officer, he has supervised caseloads in Wayne, Russell, and Clinton counties. In addition to supervising caseloads, Martin served as the home incarceration officer and the district fire/safety officer for the last three years.

In May of 2016, Martin was recognized by the Department of Specialty Courts of the Administrative Office of the Courts for his outstanding contributions as a part of the Wayne County Drug Court team. Martin has also completed the Certificate Supervisory Essentials program offered by the Office of Diversity, Equality, and Training. 

A graduate of Campbellsville University, Martin has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. From June 2005-September 2014, he served in the Kentucky Army National Guard, where he deployed twice to Iraq for combat tours. He currently serves as a member of the Monticello Volunteer Fire Department and has been with the fire department since January 2005. Martin is a current participant in the Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program that graduates in May 2019.
