Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Information Services Director Amanda Sayle today announced that Amanda Dees has been promoted to systems consultant for the Information and Technology Branch. In this position, she will be working on Kentucky Offender Management System (KOMS) projects, training, reports and data requests. Dees will also act as the wellness coordinator for Central Office staff.
“Amanda Dees brings diverse institutional KOMS knowledge and training experience to the IT group,” said Sayle.
Dees began her career with the Department of Corrections in 2007 as an accountant III at Roederer Correctional Complex (RCC). In 2009, she transferred to the position of administrative secretary and in 2011 she promoted to administrative specialist III for the Division of Population Management at RCC. In 2016, Dees began working at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women as the procedures officer and two years later she became a training coordinator. During her tenure in Corrections, she has also acted as an institutional Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) commander and institutional wellness coordinator.
Prior to her employment with the Department of Corrections, Dees worked for Aramark as an assistant food service director at all three LaGrange area adult institutions from 2005 to 2007.
A member of Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency (KCCD) since 2006, Dees has held leadership positions at the local chapter and served as treasurer and president for the KCCD Executive Board. In 2012 and 2013, she was chosen as a recipient of the Mary Frances Cooper Award. Dees is currently the second vice president of the Southern States Correctional Association.
