Angela Johnson Promoted to District 2 Assistant Supervisor

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 5, 2019) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole Director Erica Hargis announced today the promotion of Angela Johnson to assistant supervisor of District 2. District 2 covers Allen, Butler, Christian, Edmonson, Hopkins, Logan, Simpson and Todd counties. Johnson will be stationed in Simpson County’s office located in the city of Franklin.

“Angela Johnson’s dedication to the division and her well-rounded knowledge of the department make her a perfect fit for this position,” said Hargis. “Additionally, her experience in both urban and rural areas uniquely prepares her to take on a leadership role in District 2 and as part of a broader management team.”

Johnson began her career with the Department of Corrections in December 2011 working in District 17. The next year she transferred to the Franklin office where she worked for several months before moving to the Bowling Green office in District 3. There she worked as the class D coordinator for the district, supervised the substance abuse/intensive outpatient program caseload and served as a field training officer.

Prior to working for the department, Johnson gained experience as a case specialist for the Daviess County Drug Court.

Johnson obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in criminology from Western Kentucky University in 2008 and a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. In addition to receiving Employee of the Quarter in 2011 and Support Staff of the Quarter at Kentucky State Reformatory in 2018, she was honored with a DOC Achievement Award in 2015. Johnson is also a 2019 graduate of the Western Kentucky Lead Program.
