FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 14, 2021) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation and Parole Erica Hargis announced today the promotion of Tammy Rainwater to assistant supervisor of District 6. District 6 covers Boyle, Green, Larue, Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Taylor, and Washington counties. Her promotion is effective April 16.
“I am delighted to announce the addition of Tammy Rainwater to the Probation and Parole District 6 leadership team,” said Hargis. “She is a hard worker who is well respected by her peers, displays a true passion for the job, and is always willing to go the extra mile. I am excited to see the talents she brings to this position.”
Rainwater began her career with the Department of Corrections in 2008 as a probation and parole officer in the Campbellsville office. Previously she had worked at Marion Adjustment Center as a correctional officer, classification and treatment officer, and classification and treatment coordinator throughout her three years at the facility.
During her career, Rainwater has held many roles within the Division of Probation and Parole. She has served as a class D officer, field training officer, and fentanyl response officer. She has also supervised a variety of caseloads for Marion, Taylor, and Green counties. In addition to supervising a caseload, Rainwater has regularly attended circuit court and prepared presentence investigation reports.
With a major in criminal justice and a minor in psychology, Rainwater graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 2004. She is the recipient of a 2019 district quarterly award and the 2012 District 6 Achievement Award.
