Chip McIntyre Promoted to District 13 Supervisor

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 10, 2021) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Director Erica Hargis announced today the promotion of Chip McIntyre to supervisor of District 13. District 13 covers Crittenden, Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Union and Webster counties.

“Chip McIntyre leads with love for his staff. He has worked hard to build strong relationships with his co-workers, our clients, and with outside organizations such as jails and courts,” said Hargis. “These relationships will serve him and his district well in the days to come. McIntyre is truly someone you can depend on and we are fortunate to have him at the helm of District 13 and as part of the overall division’s leadership team.”

McIntyre began his career with the state in 1998 as a youth worker with the Department of Juvenile Justice. In 2003, he transferred to the Division of Probation and Parole as an officer. McIntyre supervised a number of caseloads including a regular caseload, the Henderson County Drug Court caseload, and a sex offender caseload.  Additionally, he was the class D officer for Henderson County for eight years, field training officer, and DNA trainer.

In April 2012, McIntyre was promoted to assistant district supervisor in District 13. As an assistant supervisor, he has served on the ACA compliance team and as District 13’s eWarrants and KYOPS administrator. Since 2018, he has also been a PREA investigator.

McIntyre is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a 2003 graduate of Western Kentucky University where he earned a degree in sociology with a minor in criminology. He was the recipient of the 2008 Achievement Award for District 13.
