FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 15, 2021) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Director Erica Hargis announced today the promotion of Randi Thomas to assistant supervisor in District 15. Thomas will be located in the Maysville office, which primarily services Mason, Fleming, Lewis, and Bracken counties.
“Randi Thomas is a knowledgeable employee who has earned a reputation amongst her co-workers and supervisors as a loyal, driven, and dedicated career employee,” said Hargis. “She has experience in many different aspects of the criminal justice system and our division. Her knowledge base, calm demeanor, and positive attitude will serve her well in this leadership role. I am proud to welcome her to the District 15 supervisory team and as part of the overall leadership of the division.”
Thomas began her career in state government in 2006 as a pre-trial officer with the Administrative Office of the Courts in Kenton County. In 2014, Thomas began her career with Department of Corrections, serving as a probation officer covering Mason, Fleming, Lewis, and Bracken counties. In addition to supervising a caseload, Thomas attended circuit court and prepared pre-sentence investigation reports. She is a DNA trainer and serves as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) coordinator in District 15.
A 2006 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with an area of concentration in sociology. She was the recipient of the Probation and Parole Director’s Employee of the Quarter award for the eastern district in 2019. She graduated from the Governor’s Minority Management Trainee Program the same year.
