Pamela Bentley Promoted to Program Credit Supervisor

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 20, 2021) – Department of Corrections Compliance Director John Dunn announced today that Pam Bentley has been promoted to program credit supervisor in the department’s Compliance Office.

“Pam Bentley has proven to be a great asset to the department. She was instrumental in helping to form the Division of Reentry Services,” said Dunn. “Her experience and knowledge of programs in the department will be invaluable in her new position of overseeing and conducting quality assurance for all DOC approved programing in prisons, jails, Reentry Service Centers and Recovery Kentucky Centers.”

Bentley began her career in Corrections in 1995 with the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a correctional officer and later promoted to case manager. She joined the Division of Probation and Parole in May 2005 as a probation and parole officer in the London office.

In 2011, Bentley was selected to be the reentry coordinator for District 10. She also served as an adjunct instructor at officer in-service and as a firearms instructor. In May 2017, she was promoted to a program administrator for the Division of Reentry Services where she oversaw reentry efforts in Region 7, which covers eastern and southeastern Kentucky.

A graduate of Union College, Bentley earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology, history, and education with a minor in psychology. She is the recipient of a 2019 Commissioner’s Award for her efforts related to a reentry transportation initiative in rural eastern Kentucky.
