Gov. Beshear: We’ve Announced More Than 1,200 New Jobs and Nearly $292 Million in Investments Just This Week

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2022) – Gov. Andy Beshear today announced the creation of more than 1,200 quality jobs and $291.8 million in investments by businesses across Kentucky during the last full week of the month.

“Companies across the country and around the world have recognized what we’ve known all along – that Kentucky is the place to be,” said Gov. Beshear. “We’ve already broken every record in the books for economic development, but the news we’ve announced this month – just this week even – is further proof that we are just getting started.”

2021 saw Kentucky shatter every economic development record in the books with $11.2 billion in investments announced for private-sector new-location and expansion projects and commitments to create more than 18,000 full-time jobs in coming years. 2022 is shaping up to be another great year for the commonwealth with the following announcements this week:

Quadrant to Add 200 Full-Time Jobs with New $95 Million-Plus Manufacturing Facility
Gov. Beshear announced that Quadrant will build a new $95 million-plus rare-earth magnet manufacturing operation in Louisville, its first mass production facility in the United States, which will create 200 full-time jobs for Kentuckians. To learn more, see the full release.

Eurofins Genomics to Construct New Facility in Louisville
Gov. Beshear congratulated Eurofins Genomics LLC, an international provider of DNA sequencing services, on the company’s plans to expand its presence in Louisville with a new manufacturing facility to supply reagents used for virus detection. New Vertical Farming Operation to Create 125 High-Wage Jobs in Boone County
Gov. Beshear announced continued growth within Kentucky’s agritech sector, as 80 Acres Farms moves forward with plans to locate a new vertical farming facility in Boone County, which will create 125 well-paying jobs with a $74 million investment. To learn more, see the full release.

Confluent Health to Create 350 Well-Paying Jobs at Louisville HQ
The Governor recognized the continued growth of Kentucky’s health care sector, announcing plans for Confluent Health LLC to relocate and expand its headquarters in Louisville, a project that will create 350 full-time, Kentucky-resident jobs with an investment of about $10 million. Levi Strauss to Open New Distribution Center, Creating 300 Job Opportunities
The good economic news continued as the Governor announced that Levi Strauss & Co. will establish a new e-commerce distribution center in Erlanger, creating approximately 300 jobs with a $48 million-plus investment. Gov. Beshear announced that Piston Automotive LLC, a provider of automotive assemblies, including for advanced electric and hybrid vehicle battery systems, will increase the scope of a previously announced Jefferson County expansion, which now will create 117 full-time jobs with a $26.3 million-plus investment.
