FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2023) – Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed Alex Boone as a member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees.
- Alex Boone of Lexington is chief executive officer at Sterling Ventures. He replaces Derrick Ramsey, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2029.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Vasu Vasudevan as a member of the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents.
- Vasu Vasudevan of Frankfort is a senior principal consultant for NTT Data. He replaces Kristie Whitlatch, who has resigned, and shall serve for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2028.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Candace McGraw as a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents.
- Candace McGraw of Union is the chief executive officer of the CVG Airport. She replaces Wendy Fletcher, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring July 21, 2029.
Gov. Beshear has appointed John Murray Adams as a member of the Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners.
- John Murray Adams of Owensboro is an optometrist and owner of Advantage Eye Care PLLC. He replaces Jonathan Lee Shrewsbury, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 2, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Leigh Ann Wiggins and Christopher Deglow as members of the Kentucky Parole Board.
- Leigh Ann Wiggins of Utica replaces Bridget Brown, whose term has expired. She shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 1, 2027.
- Christopher Deglow of Bowling Green replaces Larry Brock, whose term has expired. He shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 10, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Justin Noble as a member of the Hazard Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.
- Justin Noble of Emmalena is an attorney at the Law Offices of David A. Johnson. He replaces Gwendolyn Collins, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 1, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Nicky Rapier, Shannon Cales and Tom Lund as members of the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation Board of Directors.
- Nicky Rapier of Bardstown is retired and shall serve for a term expiring July 5, 2026.
- Shannon Cales of Louisville is a healthcare administrator with NuLease Medical Solutions and shall serve for a term expiring July 5, 2027.
- Tom Lund of Lebanon is retired and shall serve for a term expiring July 5, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Tim Short, Delbert Farmer and Ronald Jackson as members of the Motor Vehicle Commission.
- Tim Short of Lexington is a self-employed car dealer and shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2026.
- Delbert Farmer of Louisville is the president of Oxmoor Auto Group and shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2026.
- Ronald Jackson of Frankfort represents automobile wholesalers and shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2026.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Charles Niquette, Stephanie Lang and Thomas Matijasic as members of the Kentucky Historic Preservation Review Board.
- Charles Niquette of Lexington is an archaeologist and owner of Cultural Resources Analysts Inc. He replaces Kim McBride, who has resigned, and shall serve for the remainder of the term expiring July 15, 2025.
- Stephanie Lang of Lexington is the editor of the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society. She replaces Crystal Patterson, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 1, 2027.
- Thomas Matijasic of Hager Hill is a retired professor at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. He replaces Chris Musgrave, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 1, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Mark Johnson as a member of the State Investment Commission.
- Mark Johnson of Campbellsville is president and CEO of Citizens Bank and Trust Company. He replaces William Brashear, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 15, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Annette Bridges, Scott Collier, Travis Burton, Traci Stemmle and Amy Hood to the Early Childhood Advisory Council for terms expiring June 30, 2027.

- Travis Burton of Lancaster is director of state government affairs at the Kentucky Hospital Association.
- Traci Stemmle of Goshen is vice president and assistant director of client and community relations at PNC Financial Services.
- Amy Hood of Morgantown is an infant and toddler specialist at Western Kentucky University Training and Technical Assistance Services.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Ashley Barlow, Mary Lavin, Danny Slaton, Alison Amshoff, Jeffrey Coles and Lacheena Carothers as members of the State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children for terms expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Peyton Siva, Betty Dobson and Andrew Baskin as members of the Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage. The Governor has also reappointed Yvonne Jones, Edward White and Alvin Garrison.
- Peyton Siva of Louisville is a professional basketball player and owner of Shoot 360 Louisville. He replaces Herbert Robinson, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2027.
- Betty Dobson of Paducah is the director of The Hotel Metropolitan. She replaces Angela Crenshaw, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2027.
- Andrew Baskin of Berea is an educator at Simmons College of Kentucky. He replaces O.J. Oleka, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2027.
- Yvonne Jones of Louisville is a professor at the University of Louisville and shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2027.
- Edward White of Louisville is the founder and executive director of River City Drum Corp Cultural Arts and shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2027.
- Alvin Garrison of Covington is the superintendent of Covington Independent Public Schools and shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Justin Noble and William Fultz as members of the Real Estate Appraisers Board.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Chad Beyer as a member of the Kentucky Board of Architects.
- Chad Beyer of Paducah is an interior designer at I5 Design Group Inc. He replaces Stephanie McCrery, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring July 11, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Whitney Allen, John Mark Fones, David Roode and Supraja Parthasarathy as members of the Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange Advisory Board.
- Whitney Allen of London is director of enrollee services and advocacy for UnitedHealthcare and shall serve for a term expiring June 3, 2025.
- John Mark Fones of Bowling Green is a healthcare administrator at Med Center Health and shall serve for a term expiring June 3, 2025.
- David Roode of Ludlow is a symphony musician and shall serve for a term expiring June 3, 2025.
- Supraja Parthasarathy of Louisville is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Pediatric Anesthesia Associates and shall serve for a term expiring June 3, 2025.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jonathan McClain and Thomas Szurlinski as members of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. The Governor has also reappointed Mike “Spike” Jones and Troy Young.
- Jonathan McClain of Burlington is chief of the Belleview Police Department. He replaces Anthony Lucas, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring July 18, 2027.
- Thomas Szurlinski of Florence is a staff attorney for the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. He replaces Katherine Bennett, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring July 18, 2027.
- Spike Jones of Covington is chief of police for Kenton County and shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2027.
- Troy Young of Lawrenceburg is the mayor of Lawrenceburg and shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Sandy Miller, Shawn Miller, Roger Noe and James Ed Harris as members of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 26th Judicial Circuit.
- Sandy Miller of Harlan is comptroller of Leo Miller & Associates Inc. She replaces Robert Alred, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2027.
- Shawn Miller of Wallins is a general contractor. He replaces Anthony Felosi, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2027.
- Roger Noe of Baxter is a retired professor. He replaces Danny Castle, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2027.
- James Ed Harris of Loyall is a retired consultant. He replaces Joseph Gluck, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jackie Couture as a member of the State Board for the Certification of Librarians.
- Jackie Couture of Richmond is associate director of special collections at Eastern Kentucky University. She replaces Rebecca Nelson, who has resigned, and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2026.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jim Keller as a member of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors.
- Jim Keller of Fort Mitchell is a physician at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. He replaces Brett Gaspard, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 15, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Rebecca Green and Nancy von Lackum as members of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry. The Governor has also reappointed Lisa Arther.
- Rebecca Green of Nicholasville is a dentist at M.R. Bishop DMD and Associates. She replaces Teresa Boyd, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2027.
- Nancy von Lackum of Lexington is a dentist and owner of Modern Periodontics. She replaces Andrew Farmer, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2027.
- Lisa Arther of Lexington is a dental hygienist at Beaumont Family Dentistry and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Ben Hale as a member of the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Nominating Committee.
- Ben Hale of Prestonsburg is retired and shall serve for a term expiring June 16, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Carrie Ballinger as a member of the State Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education. The Governor has also reappointed Brenda Martin, Paulynn Covington, Mason Dyer, Brandy Corbin and Hannah England.
- Carrie Ballinger of McKee is the superintendent of Rockcastle County Schools. She replaces John Maxey, who has resigned, and shall serve for the remainder of the term ending June 30, 2024.
- Brenda Martin of Ashland is a consultant for JHM, MD PSC and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
- Paulynn Covington of Lexington is a teacher for Fayette County Public Schools and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
- Mason Dyer of Lexington is president of the Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
- Brandy Corbin of Louisville is principal at Fairdale High School and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
- Hannah England of Russell Springs is the district gifted and talented coordinator for the Russell County School District and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jacob Ward, Josh Hardesty, Gene Holthouser and Ashley Parrott as members of the Jefferson Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.
- Jacob Ward of Shepherdsville is a CPA with Cerity Partners LLC. He replaces Robin Hodgson, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 28, 2027.
- Josh Hardesty of Louisville is senior program director at Kentucky YMCA Youth Association. He replaces Julie Hinson, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 28, 2027.
- Gene Holthouser of Louisville is business representative for IBEW Local Union 369. He replaces Barbara Mishler, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 28, 2027.
- Ashley Parrott of Louisville is a program officer at the James Graham Brown Foundation. She replaces David Tachau, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 28, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Steven Compton as a member of the Advisory Council for Medical Assistance.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Tina Bojanowski as a member of the Southern Regional Education Board.
