Kentucky VINE System Temporarily Offline

Kentucky VINE System Temporarily Offline

Notifications of released inmates are inaccurate

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb 4, 2026) – The Kentucky Department of Corrections is aware of a vendor-caused issue that resulted in false alerts through the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system.

These alerts incorrectly indicated that certain inmates had been released from state custody. This information is false and should be disregarded.

To address the issue, the VINE system is temporarily offline, and notifications are not being sent. No personal data or information was hacked or compromised.

The Department anticipates that VINE will be back online by end of day tomorrow, February 5. The Department is also exploring any and all remedies available under vendor contracts.

Once the VINE system is restored, a notification will be sent to affected users.
