FRANKFORT, Ky. (September 21, 2026) — Kentucky State Treasurer Mark H. Metcalf is kicking off Kentucky’s first-ever Unclaimed Property Week today, encouraging Kentuckians to take a few minutes to search for money waiting to be claimed.
Unclaimed Property Week was established by the Treasury in partnership with the General Assembly and is observed during the fourth week of September.
“Your money belongs to you, and my job as State Treasurer is to get it back to you,” said Treasurer Metcalf. “We’re taking Unclaimed Property Week on the road to help Kentuckians find money that belongs to them. I encourage everyone to search their name and see what they find.”
As part of the week, Treasurer Metcalf and the Treasury team will host Unclaimed Property Roadshows in Madison County on September 21, Warren County on September 22 and Boyd County on September 25. Treasury staff will be on hand at each stop to help residents search for and begin the process of claiming their property.
