Wilderness Advanced First Aid Course Offered at Natural Bridge State Resort Park Dec. 2-6

SLADE, Ky. (Aug. 8, 2019) – Kentucky State Parks are offering a wilderness advanced first aid training at Natural Bridge State Resort Park Dec. 2-6, 2019.

This 5-day course is recommended for backcountry guides, canoe trip leaders, college outdoor programs, hiking club leaders, emergency medical technicians, adventure race safety personnel and others who work or play in remote wilderness areas.

The course will focus on stabilizing patients, treatment and evacuation guidelines for patients in remote areas. Learning will take place in the classroom as well as outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Students should be prepared for wet, muddy or cold environments.

The fee of $375 covers the course only. Students who complete the course will receive National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification and NOLS adult and child CPR certification. 

Lodging and meals at Natural Bridge are available at discounted rates. Double-occupancy room rates start at $83.68 a night. Meal packages are also available for commuters.
