FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 30, 2020) – The new park manager at My Old Kentucky Home State Park is Jeremy Riggs, the Department of Parks announced today.
Riggs, a Bardstown native, most recently served as the park manager at Taylorsville Lake State Park and had been serving as the interim manager at My Old Kentucky Home.
Before his state park positions, Riggs spent more than 20 years in media communications positions. Riggs worked with two Olympic Games, Monday Night Football, ABC Sports and other local television stations and shows.
Riggs has a degree from Asbury University in media/communications and was station manager for three years for the on-campus television station. Riggs lives in Bardstown with his family.
My Old Kentucky Home State Park includes the historic mansion called Federal Hill. The historic home is the subject of Stephen Foster’s song, “My Old Kentucky Home,” which is also the Kentucky state song. The park also has an 18-hole golf course, campground, picnic area and a summertime theatrical production – “The Stephen Foster Story.”
