LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 4, 2024) – Food trucks, local arts and crafts and talented Kentucky artists will return to the Waveland State Historic Site for the 10th annual Waveland Art Fair on Sept. 7-8 in Lexington.
In addition to meeting artists, guests can browse and purchase their work while enjoying local food and drinks provided by Louisiana Passion, Burnaco’s Fresh Tex Mex, Wake and Bake, Maiden City Brewing Co., Bella’s Ice Cream and Old Kentucky Kettle Corn.
The fair will be open on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 12. Tours of Waveland will be closed during the art fair.
Waveland State Historic Site is an antebellum house on the edge of Lexington, where people can learn about the Bryan family that lived in the mansion, about life on a 19th-century Kentuckian plantation and about the life of enslaved people in Kentucky. Outside of special events, tours are offered Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the last tour starting at 4 p.m. The site is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Admission for the tours is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $6 for children; children 6 and under are free.
