More than 400 university and college educators and staff will attend the Council on Postsecondary Education’s eighth annual Kentucky Student Success Summit April 15-16 at the Louisville Marriott East.
The summit theme, “Organizing for Student Success,” focuses on the fundamental question: Is Kentucky’s postsecondary system designed for student success?
The agenda features nationally recognized student success experts who will share evidence-based best practices that promote student learning and retention. They will discuss the curricular, institutional and systemic structures in higher education that can both help and hinder student success.
One of the highlights of the summit will be Kentucky students interviewing a panel of Kentucky’s education and workforce leaders on issues of policy, practice and student success. The panel includes Wayne Lewis, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Education; Derrick Ramsey, secretary of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet; and Aaron Thompson, president of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
