CPE President kicks off fall listening tour Aug. 28-29 at NKU

Council on Postsecondary Education President Aaron Thompson will kick off the second phase of his statewide listening tour with a stop at Northern Kentucky University Aug. 28-29.

The public is invited to attend the community listening session Aug. 29 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Northern Kentucky Chamber, 300 Buttermilk Pike, Suite 300, Fort Mitchell.

Thompson will engage participants in focused conversations covering issues such as college access and affordability, student success, workforce quality and transitions to career.

Participants include business and community leaders, college and high school students, local superintendents, and campus faculty, staff and administrators.

Upcoming dates and locations include:

  • Sept. 12 - Campbellsville University
  • Sept. 26-27 - Morehead State University
  • Oct. 9 - Eastern Kentucky University
  • Nov. 18-19 - University of Kentucky
  • Nov. 20 - University of Louisville

The Council on Postsecondary Education is leading efforts to get more Kentuckians more highly educated. By 2030, at least 60 percent of working-age adults in Kentucky will need to have earned a postsecondary education degree or credential to meet expected workforce demands.
